BACKGROUND
Dr. Lam was born and raised in a family without a tradition of practicing medicine. However, after witnessing the difficulties of his grandmother in her daily life due to tooth loss and using removable dentures, he had determined to become a dentist. With the desire to help people who suffer from the same condition as his grandmother regain their quality of life, Dr. Lam got into dental school and became a dentist.
After graduating with the highest honors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy – Odonto-Stomatology, Dr. Lam received a full Ph.D. scholarship in France. With a thirst for knowledge and diligence, Dr. Lam worked hard towards in-depth academic and practical expertise in the field of modern dentistry.
After getting his Ph.D., Dr. Lam returned to Vietnam with a grand mission to help the people in his hometown achieve bright and healthy smiles. To fulfill this mission, Dr. Lam and Prof. Michel Dard – Director of the Global Medical Research Team of Straumann Group (Switzerland) & Lecturer at Columbia University (New York, USA) – carried out a study about “Monitoring and applying ProArch technique on patients with total tooth loss”. The study was conducted over a 2-year-period with 94 implants inserted in 20 patients.
The results of the study proved that the new technique and procedure Dr. Lam had studied and implemented at Elite Dental received a 99.8% success rate. All of the patients who received treatments in this study expressed their satisfaction with the implant dentistry treatment. The study also paved the way for a long-term solution for total tooth loss patients.
Dr. Lam also founded the THL Academy – A research institute that focuses on clinical competency training for the young generation of dentists in Vietnam. Dr. Lam believes teachers have a very important role within an academic discipline because they are committed to transmitting knowledge through time while inspiring new knowledge to be created. Not only is Dr. Lam a passionate dentist, but he also is an inspirational mentor who wants to motivate the younger generation by sharing his academic and practical experience and therefore improve the quality of dental treatment in Vietnam.

VISION
